Affordable HDCAM studio editing recorder. Capable of Recording and playback HDCAM 1080/59.94i, 50i, 25PsF, 29.97PsF, 23.98PsF and 24PsF formats. 3-2 pull down is available by using option board HKDW-104. This deck inherited all editing functions from HDW-2000 series, such as DMC, audio split, pre-read and audio cross-fade editing. A color LCD panel on the control panel displays various type of information including audio level meter and time data. The LCD unit also displays video when playback or recording. Built-in down converter enables to output 480/59.94i or 576/50i. Up to 3 packets of VANC metadata can be recorded and played back. Non-audio recording is available such as Dolby-E or AC3. By using HKDW-104 option board, 720/50P or 720/59.94P output is available. The HKDW-105 i.LINK (HDV) input option board can be installed to record the i.LINK (HDV) signals from HDV devices onto HDCAM tapes.

  • HDCAM format
The HDCAM format uses the same 12.65-mm width tape as theconventional Betacam series. It provides high definition images,offering up to two hours of recording. High-quality 20bit/48kHz digitalaudio is supported in HDCAM format and there are four digital audioinput/output channels.
  • Control panel with LCD display
The control panel contains an LCD display unit to displayvarious types of information including time data. The display mode canbe changed to show the video which is currently recorded or playedback.
  • Function menu
You can use the function buttons on the LCD display and theMULTI CONTROL knob to easily carry out many of the operations and makemany of settings supported by the unit. The current settings can bechecked on the LCD display.

  • DMC editing
This allows automatic editing with a varying playback speedmemorized beforehand for an edit segment.
  • Pre-read editing
This allow you to playback pre-recorded video and audiomaterial, edit it by applying effects with an external device, and thenrecorded in real time on the same tape.
  • Cross-fade editing
In audio editing, you can fade the audio track. You canselect cut-in, fade-in, fade-out or cross-fade.
  • Built-in down converter
This unit has HD to SD down converter function and can outputSD SDI and analog composite signals as well as HD SDI.
  • Remote control function
This unit can be controlled from an external remotecontroller or editor through an interface complying with RS-422A (Sony9pin). Additionally a parallel (50pin) interface is also fitted asstandard, supporting easy external control through the parallelinterface.

  • 3-2 pull down playback and 720P output function (optional)
The HKDW-104 option board can be installed in this unit tocarry out 3-2 pull down playback and 720P output.

  • HDV (i.LINK) input (optional)
The HKDW-105 option board can be installed in this unit torecord the i.LINK (HDV) signals from HDV devices onto HDCAM tapes.
