The PDW-F30, XDCAM HD viewing deck, plays back 1080/60i, 50i and true 24P, 25P and 30P with compatible play back of variable frame rates. The PDW-F30 plays back Professional Disc media recorded in the MPEG HD format and can also down-convert this material to DV output. The deck will also play back DVCAM material and offers up-conversion to HD output capability. The deck is equipped with Y/Pb/Pr
(HD), RGB, SD analog composite, analog audio, XGA/VGA and audio monitoring. Also i.LINK interface supports File Access Mode (for input and output) and DV OUTPUT. Optional Gigabit-Ethernet board supports network-based file transfer. An optional board also allows input and output of 25 Mbps MPEG TS (Transport Stream) for easy integration with HDV equipment and non-linear editors.

Usershave the flexibility to designate the amount of metadata they wish torecord. Expand function	The clip for a selected thumbnail is divided into 12 eventime intervals. The first frame of each of these 12 time divisions isshown as a thumbnail. With this function, it is easy to search rapidlyfor scenes within a long clip. This expand function can be applied upto three times (dividing the clip into 1728 even time intervals) toshow a list of the frames.
Scene Selection	Provides a non-destructive, cuts-only editing capability inthe deck and camcorder.
Thumbnail Search Operation and Scene Selection Capability	Thumbnail display with instant access to clips. Combined with an attached video monitor, the PDW-F70 enables the userto perform thumbnail searches and create scene selections. The user canachieve quick, random access to each clip and creation of sceneselection lists. The PDW-F70 can then utilize those scene selectionlists by playing out the video in the order prescribed by the list. The color LCD screen provided enables thumbnail search and sceneselection functionality.
